We are Simon and Carl, identical twins. We do everything together: school, sports, motorcycles, parties, and we also share the same disease: Crohn's. Carl was diagnosed in January 2009, and Simon in June 2011. In our case, milk and spices must be avoided, so you can imagine how difficult it is for two young adults where pepperoni pizza and hot-dogs are very popular with our friends but are banned for us. Why us? What are the triggers of IBD? Participate at the Gutsy Walk. Help us reach our goal.

My name is Gabrielle, I am 14 years old and I was diagnosed with Crohn's 3 years ago. My health was deteriorating to such a point that the only possible solution for my case, was an irreversible ostomy. The doctors at St-Justine's hospital decided on a delicate intervention called "Stem cell therapy". This type of intervention was performed for the first time, for Crohn's disease, at St-Justine's. My illness is now controlled and I can live a better life. My personnal challenge is to encourage as many people as possible to join me at this event. Our combined efforts will help fund more research!

Rock Labbé: My daughter was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when she turned 18 years old, so this is a cause that touches me personally and is very close to my heart. I am determined to do everything I can to find a cure for inflammatory bowel disease. In 2010, I made a dvd (A Practical Guide To Interior Finish) and $ 1.00 from the sale of each dvd goes to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada. That may not seem like a lot, but every dollar it raises gives my family courage to stick it out and brings hope that a cure is just down the road. Please join us and participate in Gutsy Walk 2012; your efforts, however big or small, bring hope to all those touched by IBD.
